WELCOME
TO SKRIBBLES LEARNING CENTER
We'd
like to welcome you to the Skribbles family. We know that your decision
will not come easy. It’s tough to leave your children in the care
of others, but we promise to give your children the utmost happiness and
safety available.
While
you are busy at work, keep in mind that your children will be busy at
play. Although the separation may seem difficult, your children will
have a much easier time with it than you think.
Your
children will be provided with unlimited activities to encourage their
social growth and independence. They will also meet many new friends
and will look forward to coming to school each day. As the day comes
to an end and you are together with your children, talk to them about
their day. They will be eager to share their stories with you and you will
be delighted to hear what they have learned.
Your
children will find a closeness with our staff and they will learn to love
and trust their teachers. We are confident that you will be pleased
with the Skribbles way of caring and learning.
OUR
PHILOSOPHY
At
Skribbles Learning Center, we believe that children learn through playing.
Playing is a tough job, but somebody has to do it. Through play, your
child will have the opportunity to learn and explore with the many offered
materials and equipment. Each child will develop at their own pace and
will have the freedom to express their independence. We believe that it is
the process of learning that is
important and not the final product.
Each
child will be treated as an individual for the special person that they
are.
While
your children are in our care, we promise to love, nurture and support
their development. We will encourage each child to be the best that he/she
can be and we will enhance their social, emotional, physical and cognitive
development.
Our
mission is to provide families with the high quality care that is needed,
along with offering the children a happy, safe and fun learning
environment.
ABOUT
SKRIBBLES
Skribbles
was founded in 1992 and began as a Family Daycare Home, Skribbles
Family Daycare. The program was
run by Tara Rogers, DEEC qualified Director II. Tara and her sister
Juliane Blackmore, BA in accounting, have always thought of opening a
business together by combining Tara's child care knowledge and Julie's
business background. After 10 successful years
and the caring of over 100 children in the home, Tara and Julie finally
teamed up to expand the program for more
children in the community.
Skribbles Learning Center opened in February, 2003. In
2007, we had another growth and opened a second location in
Northboro.
Skribbles
is family owned and operated. We are proud of our facility and are always
striving to make Skribbles the best that it can be.
We
are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC) and
have received the prestigious award of becoming NAEYC
accredited in April 2006.
The
Center is open 52 weeks per year to accommodate working families.
Our
goal is to maintain a highly qualified staff and to offer your children
the best environment during the early years of their lives.
NAEYC
ACCREDITATION
Skribbles
Learning Center has earned accreditation from the National
Association for the Education of Young Children-The nation's
leading organization of early childhood professionals. NAEYC
Accreditation lets families in our community know that
children in our program are getting the best care and early
learning experiences.
NAEYC
is a voluntary process, which early childhood programs
demonstrate that they meet national standards of excellence.
Programs seeking accreditation undergo an intensive
self-study, collecting information from parents, teachers,
administrators, and classroom observations. They receive
an on-site visit, conducted by early childhood professionals,
specially trained by NAEYC, to validate their self-study
results. All of this information is independently
reviewed by a team of national experts who grant or defer
accreditation. When awarded, accreditation is valid for
five years. Child care centers, preschools, kindergartens, and
before-and after-school programs are eligible to seek NAEYC
accreditation.
NAEYC
accreditation is not an easy task to achieve. It requires a
lot of time, effort and dedication from the staff and
administration to lead a team to accreditation. Our staff is
extremely proud to become accredited. We feel as though our
hard work has paid off and our talents have been noticed.
The
NAEYC torch is a sign that your child will be safe, happy and
learning each day. We display the torch with great pride.
